Book Cover Case Studies
Covers we designed, and the books they became. Every one was bought once, retired from the store the day it sold, and published by its author.
A premade cover that won its category.
Transient Anchors
A memoir of a journey from refugee tents to research towers, published in 2025. In 2026 its cover won Best Cover, Nonfiction, at the IndieReader Discovery Awards.
The cover we designed
Reflections of Power. An off-white ground, a tall red doorway, a dark caped silhouette standing inside it, and a long shadow reaching a small figure on the right.
What we set
His title, subtitle and name, and a full paperback wrap built around his blurb and page count.
What he changed
He adapted the artwork for his own story. The red doorway became a city skyline and the small figure became a child carrying a backpack.
Why it holds
The idea survives at thumbnail size, which is where most covers are actually judged.
Across romance, poetry, thrillers and non-fiction
Different genres, different authors. The same thing happens each time. The cover sells once, the author sets their own title on it, and it goes out into the world as theirs.
Every Summer Since You
Our cover Shadows & Sunsets: a painted sunset over the ocean, a couple walking away from the reader hand in hand, their reflection held in the wet sand.
The Choices We Regret
Our cover Shattered Heart: a crystalline heart broken into facets, floating against a soft pink gradient with fragments scattered below it.
Virgin Soul, Dazzling Gold, A Year in Verse
Threads of Reverie, Golden Shadows and Climbing Creativity, bought between February and March 2025 and published as three poetry titles.
The President's Daughter
Our cover Wildfire Love: a double exposure, a woman and a man back to back in profile with a stand of trees showing through them on a near-white ground.
Your Heart to Keep
Our cover In Her Eyes: a face filling the top of the frame, and below it a straight road running to the horizon with a single figure walking away.
Carrying Her Forward
Our cover Minimalist Harmony: layered watercolour mountains, thin gold contour lines running across them, an orange sun and a small flock of birds.
To Make a Killer & The Six Million Dollar Mistake
Gunfire Shadows and Silent Threat, bought six months apart for two prequels to his Justice series.
